Long Time, No See!

Well hi there, it seems like it has been over a year since my last update on here. Wow, it's scary how much has changed in that time and it scares me how quick this year has actually flown by! If I'm being completely honest, I totally forgot about this blog until a few weeks ago when I ventured across it again. After going through the last posts I had made, I decided it was time for a comeback. So.. here i am!

Seeing as my last post was a year ago, it seems only fair to have a bit of an update on here about what I've been getting up to the past year. I'm going to start where I left off in October while I was in my second month of third year at uni. It's crazy so much has changed!

So here goes..

After accepting my place in third year at university, I was thoroughly enjoying the change from college ways to university ways and I was really getting into my stride. I met a lot of great new people and was really enjoying the modules I had chosen for the year. Everything was going well and then BOOM! I got glandular fever. I thought I could still keep up with my studies but glandular fever really knocks it out of you. I was off uni for three months, I couldn't eat, found it difficult to breathe, was so weak I would faint everytime I moved from bed and I ended up dehydrated. So that was the end of my university days as I had missed so much, they didn't want me to come back. They did give me deferred entry so that I can reapply again though.

I then got myself a full time job working for Sky in a call centre (yeah, I know) to keep me going until I wanted to reapply again. A year on and I'm still working there and hating every single second I spend in the place! During my time off I decided i wanted to take a new direction with my education and I am going to apply for an Events Management course. Once I've paid off everything I need to, I shall be applying for student life again!

So enough with the bad stuff, here's a list of all the good things that happened to me in the past year -

  • I went to see Arctic Monkeys in November 2011 and it was wonderful
  • I met amazingly wonderful people working for Sky, they're the best team I could ask for
  • My cousins, aunty and uncle from Knaresborough came for Christmas and we had the messiest, funniest Christmas in such a long time
  • I turned 20 in February and had an extremely messy birthday weekend where one of the nights I had to be sent home in a taxi at 9 O'clock
  • I got my nose pierced which is something I've wanted to do for SO long
  • I had one too many nights out leading in very eventful stories
  • I ventured back to my beloved T In The Park and spent the weekend wearing a stick on moustache
  • I saw The View for the 16th time and got very intoxicated
  • I spent a weekend back in Ireland with my three best friends and my full entire family for my mum's 50th birthday party
  • I dressed as a mime yet again for halloween
Now all these events have been all very well and good but the best and most amazing and exciting thing that's happened to me this year is that I've only gone and got myself a boyfriend! Now I'm never normally one for being all soppy and loved up but I've genuinely found the most amazing guy. His name's Connor, he's gorgeous, he's thoughtful, funny, awesome and everything else under the sun! The best thing is that he's also a Sci Fi lover and so we just chill out watching my Heroes box set or sit and watch Marvel films over and over. He's made me the happiest I have been in such a long time!

So anyway, here are some pictures of my adventures from this year..

i take pictures when boredom takes over

Just a quick post tonight because I have a coursework overload at the moment and have quite a bit of reading to do tonight before I head to bed. I've had every intention of studying since I got home from uni today but all I've really done is find ways to distract myself from doing so. For example, I did a spot of online shopping, entered a few bidding wars on ebay for things I don't even need and also purchased various Disney DVDs for next to nothing on Amazon. Yes, I know I've been productive tonight, just not in the correct way. I have to do a presentation tomorrow in my 9 o'clock seminar with a group of 5 other people. I hate presentations SO MUCH. I'd much rather write vast amounts in an essay than have to get up infront of people I hardly know and present findings. Shoot me now!

In other news, I'm starting to get bored of my light blonde/ginger hair. I just feel like I should go back to my natural colour. I don't think I'd go back to black after the hassle it took to strip that colour out of my hair, but I'm definitely considering being a brunette again.

I'm also about to throw my stupid blackberry out of my window if the internet doesn't start working soon. I'm having withdrawl symptoms from twitter because I can't get on to it! I cannot wait until my phone can be upgraded. Hello 3rd of December and hello iPhone!

Goodnight guys ! Xo.

Surprise style inspiration

I have to say that I love Demi Lovato's style. I'm not a fan of her music but I find her very interesting as a person because of the trouble she's gone through. I've always had an interest in Demi's style simply because she doesn't dress like a typical Disney star but over the past couple of months, I've sort of fallen in love with her outfit choices. I also like the fact that she seems to be a hat fiend as I am also a fellow fiend of the hats.

I'm also loving Demi's hair at the moment. My hair used to be that long until I decided to go blonde and had to get my dry ends cut off. I miss my long hair and I'm forever wishing that it would grow back.

AND IT'S JUST A CASE OF TRAGIC MAGIC

WHEN YOU CAN'T REMEMBER FEELING FANTASTIC

I HONESTLY CANNOT DESCRIBE HOW EXCITED I AM RIGHT ABOUT NOW!!
The View have just announced December tour dates that go on sale next Friday. Words cannot describe how happy this has made me. For those few people who read this, you may (or may not) know that I am absolutely in love with this band and so far I've seen them live 11 times. The View gigs are always memorable and they are by far the best band to see live. Honestly, if you haven't seen them live I strongly suggest you go for it. I can't even begin to explain my love for The View, I just think they are incredibly talented and one day I would love to marry a Kyle Falconer look-a-like or sound-a-like. I think that would be lovely.

Be cruel to me 'cause I'm a fool for you

I'm feeling seriously under the weather today. My throat has pretty much closed up leaving me struggling to speak and I'm choked with the cold. I didn't go to uni today, instead I've been lying around on the couch all day, wrapped in my duvet and watching Disney movies. There is honestly nothing like watching Disney movies when you're unwell.

I have to go to uni tomorrow though, I hate missing anything even if it is just one lecture and I also have to go because I need to fill out my application for studying abroad. It took a lot of decision making but I finally chose to study in Marseille which is in France if you didn't know..

I also have an interview ar 1 o'clock tomorrow at a travel agents called Canadian Affair so fingers crossed I'm successful. I'm also crossing my fingers that I'm able to speak tomorrow or it will be a complete fail.

Finally I have to attend my college graduation tomorrow night. I even have to wear a lovely graduation robe, how fun! The ceremony is in Stirling Castle which is pretty nice I guess, most of the ceremonies were in Falkirk Town Hall so I guess we were pretty lucky! I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone from my college class again actually, it will be really nice to catch up with them all.

Even though I have so much on tomorrow, I honestly cannot be bothered. I'd much rather curl up in my bed for the day with my hot water bottle and my mum's home made soup. That would be lovely.

Enjoying life with lighter hair.

I am craving heartbreak while you're making your demands

Well, well, well. Hasn't it been a while since I visited my blog. If I'm being truly honest, I forgot all about it. So much has happened over the months since I last posted and I'm not sure if I can really summarise it into one post. However I will try as best as I can by going through the months. I must warn you that my memory may be a little hazy;

FEBRUARY
  • I turned 19 which depressed me slightly
  • I passed my driving test
  • I saw The Dykeenies in Dundee
  • I got insanely drunk one Sunday night and cannot remember what happened
  • I started a new diet and decided to kick start my healthy regime
MARCH
  • I got a new job working seasonally for the Falkirk Wheel and hated it
  • I attended many Dusk Mondays
  • I got offers in from possible universities
APRIL
  • I saw The View for the eleventh time at Barrowlands and a guy almost knocked me out with his elbow
  • I went to see The X Factor Live because I'm in love with Aiden Grimshaw
  • I spent the Easter break completely drunk
MAY
  • I lost 1 1/2 stone from my healthy diet!!
  • I started stressing out about finishing college
  • I kept quiet and focused on course work
JUNE
  • I got an A in my Graded Unit at college
  • I finished college for good and received my HND Tourism award
  • I went to Knaresborough to see my little cousin in Billy Elliot
  • I went to Turkey for the week with my family and didn't want to come home
  • Got rid of my black hair. It's now gingery/blonde.
JULY
  • I finished working at the Falkirk Wheel
  • I didn't go to T In The Park and became depressed that whole weekend
  • I went to my friend from my old work's wedding and was reunited with all my old friends
  • I went to Ireland to visit family and had the best week
AUGUST
  • Came home from Ireland
  • Accepted my offer to Glasgow Caledonian to study International Tourism & Travel Enterprise
  • Enjoyed the rest of my summer holidays by getting drunk every night
SEPTEMBER
  • Started university
  • Cut my fringe back in
  • Debbie came home from Spain, we went out for lunch and had a night out in Dusk
  • Decided that I'm going to study abroad in January for 4 months
  • Had a night out in Glasgow with Robyn and had one of the best nights in ages
  • Went out for Erin's birthday on Friday and drank too many Jager Bombs
So that was the past 8 months summed up in one post. So many things happened but I just pin pointed the more memorable things.

Now that I have my life into perspective, I'm going to start blogging more because I have a lot of feelings and thoughts that I need to get off my chest right now. Tonight, however I will leave it at that as I'm currently watching Nowhere Boy and drinking cups of tea. It really is a great, great film.
